Before ARMCO
The original members of Epsilon Company consisted of the survivors of the planet Epsilon.
The Vanduul War
In the year 2955 the planet of Epsilon came under attack from an unknown enemy (later revealed to be the Vanduul). Epsilon had been struggeling against the Vanduul since the outbreak of the war 3 years earlier in the year 2952 with limited success. Vanduul raiding parties had already taken multiple key colonies of Epsilon and worn down it navy the YSF (Yellow Stone Federation). Despite this at the time of the final battle the YSF fleet still possesed a large number of advanced combat capable ships including three highly advanced Vanguard Class Battlecruisers, around 20 Dreadnought Class Heavycruisers and approximately 100 other combat cappable vessels excluding fighters. The battle raged on for several days with the Vanduul making limited progress, but on the 3rd day they launched a largescale push breaking through the defensive line. The fleet soon fell. In the chaos an evacuation of the planet was ordered. Few ships escaped and most went on to join Epsilon Company.
Escaping Epsilon
At the time of the battle the YSF Vengance, the ship that would then go on to be the command ship of Epsilon Company, was in dry dock 16 in the finishing stages of construction along with multiple other YSF ship including its sister ship the Valor. When the battle began the enginering crews raced to get as many ship space worthy as possible in hopes that they could later join the battle. The Enginering crews managed to get the Vengance in a condition were she could fly but it came to late. The front line had already fallen and an evacuation ordered. Captain John Hammond (the ranking officer at the dockyard) ordered that all ships in the area including both military ships and civilian ship were to gather together to save as many people as possible and escape the Vanduul forces. A fleet comprising of 13 military vessels, approximately 50 civilian ships and an EDY (Epsilon Drive Yards) mobile dockyard gathered and managed to escaped the planet in the chaos of the battle.
After Epsilon
For the next 15 years the newly founded Epsilon Trading & Security Company traveled the Galaxy taking any job they could in order to maintain its substatial fleet. Over the course of this time Captain John Hammond also tried to make as many allies as possible with Epsilon Company slowly but steadily growing in numbers. The end goal of Epsilon Company was to obtain enough ships and resources to one day retake their homeworld of Epsilon.
Joining ARMCO
Havoc Battlegroup
15 years after the fall of Epsilon and the founding of Epsilon Company a small taskforce on a job hunting pirates encountered the Armco battlegroup 'Havoc' on a similar contract in the sector. The 2 fleets operated in unison for the next few months. Once the job had been completed the taskforce returned to the main fleet where the commanders of Epsilon Company voted overwhelmingly to join the newly discoved mercenary group. For the course of the following years Epsilon Company operated under Armco, taking jobs with other Armco members and making new friends and allies across the galaxy.
Haven
Upon hearing the call to arms from Captain Shack for a joint Armco operation to liberate the planet of Haven from the Bug invaders, Epsilon Company dipatched the ECS Constelation, a Nebular class bulk freighter, to provide logistic support. Along with the Constelation a VTOL gunship, callsign Liberty-1, was also dispatched under the command of Commander Finn to help provide CAS for Armco ground troops. Liberty-1 deployed with operation Gleaming Trident and helped with troop movement on the western advance towards the city of Sitka and aiding in the capture of the fuel refinery. Towards the end of the conflict once the city had been secured, Liberty-1 participated in the final strike againts the smaller of the 2 'Titan' bugs as it tried to escape, firing a salvo of rockets and cannon rounds to help take it down.
Lussan
After the operation on Haven, Liberty-1 needed to undergo a significant refit to improve its engine systems that had been damaged by the prolonged operation. Due to this, Liberty-1 was unable to participate in the joint operation on Lussan. Instead a small corvette dropship called the Avalon was sent to rendezvous with the Armco fleet where, under the command of Commander Finn, it deployed as part of operation Sand Rats. The Avalon landed with the first wave, transporting the light mechs Dragoons and Valentine, the main battle tank Pupper, the self propeled gun Basilisk, the irregular infantry Hardliner, and the mechanised infantry Ironsides. Once the forward command base had been established the Avalon headed south to counter the incoming pirate 'battleship', and was amongst 7+ ships to fire the opening salvo into the ships sheilds. The Avalon then proceeded to attempt a flanking manouver to take out the battleships engines, however the pirates where pushed into retreat before it could get in position.
Titan
By the time the Armco fleet to up the job on Titan, Liberty-1 had completed her refit and was ready to resume operations. Liberty-1 deployed, once again under the command of Commander Finn, with Battlegroup Typhoon carring the infantry squad Vigil. Liberty-1 then proceded to aid in the capture of the water treatment plant north of the main city, helping to provide CAS for the Armco ground troops. Once the city had been secured and Yos had been captured, Liberty-1 help with the evacuation of Armco forces, moving to Battlegroup Icarus the pick up the medic squad CC.
