The Royal Black Watch

The Royal Black Watch started life as the Sarna-Lier Defence Force 191st Division 81st "Royal Black Watch" Battalion.

The planet Sarna-Lier was a part of a coalition of planets called the Star League. Every world sent resources to a collective, called the Triumvirate, which safeguarded every planet, providing food, medicine, and military defense to member worlds. Unfortunately, a schism occurred between the groups of theTriumvirate, led by General Ameris from one of the founding planets. The coup turned into an all out Civil War, which devastated most of the planets in the league—bathed in nuclear fire, planet wide EM Pulses, and widespread destruction.

During the final days of their planet, the 191st were ordered to defend their Capital as civilians and wounded were evacuated.Ameris's forces detonated a nuclear device under their planet's crust, causing the planet to crack into three. In their final hour, The 81st Battalion conducted combat search and rescue (C-SAR ) operations to save as Mason their people as they could.

The current formation bearing their name consists of Marine and Air Force survivors gathered under Captain Dylan Hunt, and Commander John Robert Crichton Jr.

Since the destruction of their home, they have gathered several units and collections of people from various places, including the 4th Marine Aviation Team from their sister world, and the “Zetans”, a group of Shock Infantry from Terra.

Durring their first formal campaign with ARMCO, they operated with the Tornado Battlegroup
