Lore

The Calidonian Legion was forged in the fires of tragedy. When their ice-bound homeworld, Calidonia, fell to a brutal occupation, the remnants of its military and civilian populations scattered into the stars. In the wake of their world's collapse, the Legion was born—an force dedicated not only to survival but to the reclamation of their lost people.

Under the steadfast leadership of Major Aled Vaelin, the Legion sought refuge among the ranks of ARMCO, forging an a partnership with their new comrades in arms. But survival is never enough for the Calidonians. With their resolve hardened by the harsh climate and the destruction of their home, their true purpose is clear: to find, rescue, and reunite with their scattered people, and, one day, liberate their frozen world from its cruel occupiers.

Rebuilding from the ashes, the Calidonian Legion stands as a symbol of unyielding strength and hope in a universe defined by loss. Though they are small in number, their unwavering loyalty to each other and their cause is a force that will not be easily extinguished. Ready to face any challenge, the Legion marches on, determined to reclaim their heritage and restore their people’s freedom.

History

The Titan Campaign

The Titan Campaign was a defining moment for the Calidonian Legion, marked by tragedy, resilience, and survival. Assigned as part of Battlegroup Typhoon, the Legion’s primary role was to provide medical support through its Trauma Wing during the battlegroup's mission to secure a strategically vital airbase. However, the mission took a catastrophic turn when the Legion’s transport, G-Fourier, was shot down during insertion. Stranded and unable to fulfill their assigned role, the Legion’s focus shifted entirely to survival and eventual extraction.

The Crash Landing

The campaign began in disaster as enemy anti-aircraft fire struck G-Fourier, forcing a violent crash landing far from the intended drop zone. The wreckage was devastating, with significant casualties among the crew, Calidonia-1 personnel and other allied platoons aboard. The Trauma Wing, intended to serve as a crucial support element, found itself in disarray, its members wounded or dead.

Under the leadership of Major Vaelin and Sergeant-Major Evan Idwal, the survivors regrouped amidst the wreckage. Despite injuries and limited supplies, they tended to the wounded and salvaged what they could. The Trauma Wing, though crippled, worked tirelessly to stabilize survivors and mark the fallen, refusing to abandon their duty even in the face of overwhelming odds.

The March to the Airbase

In the days following the crash, the remnants of Calidonia-1 began a grueling march toward the newly secured airbase in the northeast. The journey was defined by exhaustion, injury, and a relentless drive to survive. Allied forces encountered along the way, including engineers, medical units, and infantry, were unable to spare significant assistance but provided critical supplies such as medical kits, rations, and ammunition.

The survivors moved as one, joined by other allied personnel who had also been stranded after the chaotic insertion. Together, they navigated Titan’s harsh terrain, driven by the promise of safety and regrouping at the airbase. Along the way, they contended with the physical and emotional toll of their ordeal, the wreck of G-Fourier and the loss of comrades never far from their minds.

Extraction

By the fourth day, Calidonia-1 reached the airbase, where allied forces had established a stronghold. The survivors were exhausted, battered, and diminished in number, but they had endured. Evacuation shuttles transported them to the Endurance, bringing their ordeal to an end.

During the extraction, the surviving members of Calidonia-1 observed the larger campaign continuing to rage across Titan. The scale of the conflict became increasingly apparent, with radio transmissions describing major assaults, suicide missions, and advanced enemy technology. Despite the chaos, the skies above Titan now belonged to ARMCO—a testament to the coalition’s strength and determination.

Aftermath and Legacy

The Titan Campaign left the Calidonian Legion deeply scarred. The Trauma Wing, once a cornerstone of their mission, was critically reduced, and their role in the battlegroup was tragically cut short by the crash. However, the Legion’s survival and eventual regrouping demonstrated their resilience and unity in the face of overwhelming adversity.

Though they could not contribute to the capture of the airbase as planned, the Legion’s determination to endure underscored their commitment to their people and their allies. The Titan Campaign serves as a solemn chapter in the Legion’s history, a reminder of the costs of survival and the strength needed to overcome even the most harrowing challenges.
