Lore

Ashen Strategic Industries (ASI) was born in the aftermath of the Ashen Global Unification Wars, a brutal conflict that left the planet Ashen scarred and it's nations desperate for stability. During the war, the fragmented governments relied heavily on independent weapons manufacturers and private contractors tot sustain their militaries. Among these entities, a conglomerate of arms dealers, industrialists, and tacticians banded together to form the Ashen Armament Consortium, a wartime alliance driven by profit and survival. After the war's conclusion' Ashen's fractured States merged into a single authoritarian regime, seeking to rebuild and fortify the planet against external threats. The consortium rebranded itself as Ashen Strategic Industries.

It eventually gained government endorsement making it the sole provider of military equipment and private security forces. ASI's integration with the new regime allowed it to monopolize the arms industry, absorbing smaller corporations and cementing its dominance. Over the decades, ASI expanded beyond Ashen, producing advanced weaponry, armored units, and specialized forces for both planetary defense and off-world deployment. Its mercenary units, like the 77th Ashen Tyrants, were created not only to execute high-stakes contracts but also to showcase the company's cutting-edge technology and capabilities. Today, ASI is more than a corporation-it is the heart of Ashen's military machine, shaping the planet's destiny to control through sheer industrial might and authoritarian control.

History

The Planet Ashen

Ashen is a planet divided by its ring, creating a frozen equator that once separated two dominant species. The northern humanoids, now rulers, waged devastating nuclear and death wars against the southern species, leaving the south an irradiated wasteland. The north, choked by industrial smog and plagued by acid rain, thrives on authoritarian control and unyielding industry.

The permafrost zone stands as a barren divided, while the south serves as a graveyard of ash and radiation. Ashen's ruined climate and bleak landscapes reflect a legacy of war and relentless exploitation. This is also where the planet got its name from. Not much is known anymore about the southern species except for the fact that they were an obstacle to Ashen's path to salvation. Much of their data and artifacts remain in the irradiated wasteland, frequent hazard squads are sent into the southern hemisphere destroy any remaining artifacts.

The Global Unification Wars

The Global Unification Wars on Ashen were sparked by resource shortages and environmental collapse, leading to widespread major conflict between major factions like the Solarius Coalition and Drakmar Dominion which fell after pivotal battles such as The Battle of Ylstra's Edge, where smaller factions like the Vornis Confederacy used guerilla tactics to gain control. The wars left Ashen in ruins, with An estimated 50 to 70 million dead across all factions, including soldiers, civillians and entire populations wilde out in the aftermath of brutal campaigns, sieges, and scorched-earth tactics.

The new Emperor of the Ashen Empire is Emperor Aric Vornis, a vormer high-ranking officer within the Vornis Confederacy which is one of the key factions that rose to power after the wars. They initially made their mark during the Battle of Ylstra's Edge, where their forces, under the leadership of Commander Aric Vornis, ambushed a superior Solarius Coalition force, inflicting heavy casualties and crippling the Coalition's military momentum. After this decisive battle, the Confederacy had an gotten the influence it needed to forge key alliance. Not long after this, langer empires like Solarius and Drakmar crumbled, ans the Confederacy was able to step into the power vacuum, gaining support of the war-wearing populations who were tired of the 15 years of war. After the wars, the Confederacy rebranded itself as the Ashen Empire with Commander Aric Vornis assuming the role of Emperor.

ASI and ARMCO

After the Global Unification Wars, the Ashen Empire was rebuilding but faced resource shortages and internal instability. The Empire recognized that relying solely on its military wouldn't be enough to secure its position. The ASI, with its vast resources and elite forces, was a valuable asset. By allowing the ASI to contact ARMCO and join its mercenary fleet, the Empire could bolster its military capabilities, gain economic support, and ensure political stability by maintaining strong ties with influential mercenary groups. This alliance could help the Empire secure its dominance while continuing its recovery.

Encounters

9 Tails Company

The encounter with The 9 Tails Company began with tensions after they threatened the 77th Ashen Tyrants during a standoff. However, after some communication, Commander Weswing of the 9 tails company offered a formal apology, acknowledging his brother's (Commander Southpaw) harsh response and the need for better Diplomacy. He extended reparations in the form of supplies and made assurances that future conflicts would be avoided. The 77th Ashen Tyrants, under Commander Varrik Korr, accepted the apology but remained form, ensuring that respect for boundaries would be maintained moving forward.
